“Don’t even think of picking that up! I saw you sneak it into your trunk.”

Severus, in the act of reaching for said book freezes mid-motion. “It’s important that I read this before summer break is over.”

“It can wait until we get back from our holiday. You promised me one week away from responsibilities. That means yours as well as mine. It hasn’t even been a day.”

He could hear the moment Harry went from angry to depressed; he had to salvage this situation quickly. “You’re right, it can wait until we get back. I’ll get the suntan lotion.”

Oh, nice! I love how responsive to Harry's tone and emotions Severus is here. How willing to compromise and give his partner some time he seems and how comfortable Harry is voicing his objections to the idea of Severus picking up that book. They obviously have their issues as a couple, but they are working hard to overcome them and that is the best way to ensure their relationship remains as strong as it looks. Wonderfully romantic in a quiet and mature way. Well done, my friend. Well done indeed. :D
