Summary: Severus is still recovering during the summer holiday and Harry is determined to celebrate with him.
AN: In honor of my son being born on Thursday I have made an effort to write a new drabble. I was hoping he’d be a little later than his due date, maybe be born on the 31^st (haha!) but alas no. He does share a birthday with his proud papa though!

“The longest day of the year is usually celebrated with family and friends,” The raspy voice from the bed explained. “You should make time for your admirers.”

“I’m not interested in their pretty words or fake smiles. I’m right where I want to be.”

“Helping this invalid of a social pariah? Please.”

Harry gives an exasperated sigh. “No; helping my mom’s best friend get back on his feet after a terrible injury, putting right a terrible misconception, finding a kindred spirit in the most unlikely of places.”

“You are waxing poetic again.”

“So we’re not friends?”

“I didn’t say that.”

...and i giggle, because i missed being born on the 31st by less than an hour. 51 years ago. (i asked my mother "does that make you OLD?" and she threw a kitchen towel at me. heh!)

Hello there, Soleo!:D

I just came back from my vacation and it was the greatest pleasure to check up what's going on in my little corner of fandom and find out that not only your baby boy has been born already, but that you are back to writing, my friend! :)

First things first, though, so CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of your little one and may he be as quiet as my own little one was.

Now, on to my review: I love the maturity Harry showed up in this piece. How calmly he set out to rebut every single one of Severus' protests until he backed the man into a corner. Lovely work, as always. Quiet and mature and beautiful to boot. Kudos on a job well done and welcome back, soleo. I've missed your writing something fierce and I'm absolutely delighted to have you back. :D
