*laughs and ducks her head* I do it to Pekeleke's drabbles all the time. I make the bookends for her stories, and it becomes a habit. If a story just doesn't appear to be complete I'll make it up in my head. I typically only tell her though.
I can give you the opener - the what happened before that scene.
You see, Ron contacted Severus about them going out, making sure that Harry hadn't forgot to inform the man in his excitement. The last thing he wanted was for Severus to be mad at them. He knew that he wouldn't be mad at Harry for long, but the rest of them.. well Ron knew the man bore a grudge like no one else.
So, any rate, Ron invited Severus to come along, just covering all bases, but Severus had refused, since he knew that Harry would have more fun without him.
Severus listened to Harry getting ready, waiting for his partner to think about telling him the evening plans. So, when Harry walked into the room looking just a bit to hot to be going out without him, Severus made sure to bury his nose behind his book. He refused to ruin Harry's birthday night out.
*grins* There, now you have the other side, just as easy to dismiss.
