“Professor Potter, welcome back.”

“Thank you Headmaster.”

Severus knew Harry tanned well, but the golden skin was darker then when he had departed at the end of the semester for the summer holidays. He couldn’t detect any lighter skin around neck or wrist indicating that the tan was due to working in the outdoors.

“If you wanted I could let you inspect me for tan lines sir. I’m pretty sure I got them all.” Harry smirked as Severus blushed at being caught staring.

“All of them?” Severus gasped at the implication, nearly undone.

“Maybe next year you could join me.”

“Severus, how did you get to be afraid of heights?” Severus stiffened behind him.

“It’s complicated.”

“Really?” Harry turned to face his husband, still held gently in the man’s arms.

“Yes, it involves your father, a transfiguration spell and an owl.” A shudder ran through the lanky form. 

“I’m sorry they were so horrible to you at school.” He pulled his body flush to the taller man, putting his arms around his neck to pull him in for a kiss. “I think I should try to make it up to you somehow.”

“If you insist, but it could take years.”
